Our Story
Our story starts with a simple love for the outdoors – sun-soaked days, dusty feet, and time spent outside where life feels uncomplicated.
iiFlopsi began as a classic garage start-up. We were looking for quality, leather flip flops that were comfortable, durable, and fairly priced – the kind of plakkies you can wear every day. When we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we decided to make them ourselves.
Four years ago, what started as a hands-on hobby became a family-run project. Through trial, error, and a timeless handmade process, iiFlopsi took shape – focused on genuine leather, comfort, and doing things properly.
Today, our flip flops are still handmade using locally sourced materials, and proudly locally produced in South Africa. Every pair carries the same intention we started with: quality you can feel, and comfort that lasts.
Inspired by South African Living
iiFlopsi is inspired by the outdoors — early mornings, open roads, beach days, and everyday moments that don’t need overthinking.
Our flip flops are designed to be timeless, practical, and easy to wear. Whether you’re travelling, working, or taking a break, they’re made to fit naturally into your life — no fuss, no frills, just solid comfort.
Handmade. Local. Built Properly.
Every pair of iiFlopsi plakkies is handmade using genuine leather and locally sourced materials. From cutting the leather to final assembly, each step is done by hand with care and consistency.
We believe a timeless process creates better products. That’s why we focus on small-batch production and hands-on work – not shortcuts or mass manufacturing.
This is footwear made slowly, honestly, and with pride.

But when you think about the moments that actually stay with you. The moments that surface years later without warning, they’re rarely about what was wrapped in paper. They’re about time. Shared, unhurried, intentional time.
